Samson Arega Ethiopian Airlines Canada Country Manager addressed an audience of over 200 people held at Shangi-La hotel in Toronto for the annual forum organized by Mining Service Trade Association (MSTA) Canada in partnership with the Canadian Council on Africa (CCAfrica). This year’s theme : “Unleashing Canadian Mining Ecosystem.” Participants to this annual forum included Canadian Mining, Technology, Manufacturers Executives and Senior Government Officials

Arega shared with the participants how Ethiopian Airlines is an aviation leader in Africa, advancing regional economic integration and connecting Africa’s fast-growing economies to the global market. 

“The investment in African mining and trade between Canada and Africa is rapidly expanding. We know Canadian key business stakeholders travelling to Africa need flexibility and connectivity when travelling throughout Africa. Ethiopian Airlines provides direct and most efficient connections. By providing the best possible connectivity between Canada and over 60 African destinations,” said Arega.

In his presentation, he talked about Ethiopian Airlines’ 2025 strategic roadmap and how the airlines will continue to expand Canadian and African networks to ensure further growth and investment in the trade industry.

“We have built a strong foundation with our partners, allowing us to strengthen these ties further,” said Arega.

The African continent (“Africa” – 54 countries and over 1.2 Billion people) is the new and most attractive business frontier for Canadian companies. Africa is emerging and we need Canadian partners in area of technologies, expertise and investment in order to ensure economic and social development of its people, said Nola Kianza President & CEO CCAfrica.

The Annual Forum theme this year “Unleashing the Canadian Mining Ecosystem” is designed to provide a platform to showcase how other developing nations can learn from Canada and why Canadian mining ecosystem governments, research institutes, and companies are preferred partners in developing natural resources which can be done in an ethical, responsible and mutual beneficial thus sustainable manner for all stakeholders.
